What do you get when you put 18 hard-core devs on a couple of sailboats? This is exactly what we set to find out on a September week-end off the Ligurian coast.
The plan was to drive down to Genova, and then travel for 2 days by Aeolus’ soft breeze. Everything was set, the sailboats ready, the crews selected and ready to race, the meals planned (you can never be to careful… We had bananas in the office for 6 weeks!), the swimsuit on. Paolo (aka Lupo di Mare), the only one of the team having sailing experience, directed us out of the harbour, as we set the course towards Portofino, Rapallo, and La Spezia.
Alas, Aeolus didn’t show up. We did some quiet sailing along the coast, enjoying scenery, taking baths, and chatting about why Graph Databases are certainly not the future.
